 Richard’s Almanak Epigrams

Richard’s Almanack was written from 1732 to 1758. Created the epigrams was no other than Benjamin Franklin. In Richard’s epigrams on line thirteen the epigram “When the well’s dry, we know the worth of water.” Explains about where when something that wasn’t cherished or cared for from the past and when its gone or empty people will start cherishing and caring for something that was used to be there. Another example in this situation would be if you have three dogs and not a lot of people pay attention to it that the three dogs runs away and when its gone people would be noticing where they went and why. Another epigram would be on line ten. The epigram “god helps them that helps themselves.” It means that when you look deep inside yourself and have the confident of doing something yourself without help. Only will you know that god will be there to help you and guide you through your obstacle. Another is it could be you must do it yourself and no one else because god wont help those who don’t look and have the confidents to do make it. Another epigram would be line one where it says, “He that cannot obey cannot command.” It means that person cannot respect nor do what is told he cannot do the same to other people. On line eighteen, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” This epigram means when your friend needs help from you, you can be sure that it’s a true friend because your friend is going to you for advice.
